The project suggests an island with canals to make Filipstad a supplement to the Oslo fjord city. The housing development suggests a high concentration of urban activities on street level. A variety of typologies area organized in a grid structure connect the new development to existing parts of the city. High logistic demands of the area to organize pedestrians, public transport and cars are absorbed by a multifunctional underground layer. Building heights decrease gradually towards the 800m long waterfront-park with various recreational and public programs.
